Oskar Kolberg's Honour Award
for Muzeum Wsi Opolskiej in tribute to the merits for the folk culture
The Opole Open-Air Museum of Rural Architecture is the only open-air museum located in the Opole Voivodeship, and one of only four such museums located within the historical boundaries of Silesia. During its almost 50 years of existence the Museum has amassed a rich collection of historic wooden architecture from the Opolan Silesia region, which – in connection with the Museum’s wide array of attractions, such as outdoor events, exhibitions, competitions, and shows – makes it one of the region’s most unique attractions.
Currently displayed exhibitions: "50 anniversary of The Opole Open- Air Museum of Rural Architecture"- an exhibition presents by photography important events that took place during those 50 years. "Folk painting on glass"- the exhibition from the collection of the Museum in Ostrawa "Rural architecture with red brick. Village Architecture of Silesia Opole"- exhibition presents by photography brick-made buildings and details of rural architecture. "The May Day Picnic in the Skansen. Master- Disciple 2011"- post-competition exhibition made from works of students from Opole on this year`s edition of competition. 16.10.2011- Autumn Folk Art. Fair. Apiarian Fair.
